Today, we’ll show you how to make chicken gyros. Here’s what you’ll need.

Ingredients for Chicken Gyros

Marinade

  • 2 cups of Greek yogurt
  • 1/4 cup of lemon juice
  • 3/4 cup of olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon of kosher salt
  • 1 tablespoon of minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon of ground coriander
  • 1 tablespoon of paprika
  • 1 teaspoon of black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon of ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon of cayenne pepper

Tzatziki sauce

  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • 1 shredded cucumber
  • 2 cups of Greek yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon of minced garlic
  • 2 tablespoons of finely chopped fresh dill
  • 1/4 cup of lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons of finely chopped fresh parsley

Everything else

  • 2 pounds boneless skinless chicken thighs, pounded flat
  • 1/2 yellow onion, peeled and root side removed
  • 1 wooden skewer (about 10 inches long)
  • 8 pitas
  • Sliced onion
  • Sliced tomato
