Here’s a great date idea: cook her a steak dinner for two. Aside from the steak itself, the recipe comes with two other courses: bacon avocado Caesar salad and scalloped potatoes.
Intrigued yet? Good. Here’s how it’s done.
- 3-4 peeled potatoes
- 1 tablespoon of butter
- 2 cloves of garlic
- 1 cup of milk
- 1/2 teaspoon of pepper
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 2 tablespoons of grated parmesan
- 1 tablespoon of flour
- Chopped parsley
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius/350 degrees Fahrenheit.
In your cooking pot, melt the butter and fry the garlic until it’s just starting to brown.
Put in the flour, and whisk the mixture until there are no lumps.
Gradually pour in the milk while constantly whisking. Bring the mixture to a boil, then take the pot off the stove.
Cut up the potatoes into about 1/8-inch-thin slices, then splay them out in a small baking dish.
Pour the sauce on top of the potatoes, then sprinkle it with the parmesan.
Bake for 1 hour, or until the top of the dish is bubbly and golden brown.
Sprinkle the chopped parsley on top of the dish.
