Pad thai is a stir-fried rice noodle dish commonly served as a street food and at casual local diners in Thailand. It’s usually made with stir-fried noodles, eggs, fish sauce, shrimp, and garlic, and served with lime wedges and roasted peanuts.

Pad thai ingredients

  • 1 8-oz. package of dried flat rice noodles
  • 3 tablespoons of fish sauce
  • 1/4 cup of fresh lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon of white sugar
  • 2 tablespoons of oyster sauce
  • 1 and 1/2 tablespoons of Asian chili pepper sauce, divided
  • 1/4 cup of chicken stock
  • 1/4 cup of vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon of chopped garlic
  • 8 oz. of medium-sized shrimp (peeled and deveined)
  • 8 oz. of skinless, boneless chicken breast halves (cut into 1-inch cubes)
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 3 cups of bean sprouts
  • 6 green onions, chopped into 1-inch pieces
  • 2 tablespoons of chopped unsalted dry-roasted peanuts
  • 1/4 cup of chopped fresh cilantro
