The Huawei P11 is the imminent follow-up to last year’s impressive P10 flagship phone. If you’ve heard good things about or enjoyed the P10, then you should be stoked for its sequel. Here’s what we know about it so far.
The top 2017 design trend is having minimal bezels and Huawei will continue it with the P11. If you recall, the bezels on the Mate series and the Honor 9 are barely there.
There are also leaked schematics that show this. The P11 design actually looks similar to the Mate 10. If these are accurate, the Huawei P11 will hardly have any bezels on the sides of the display, some minimal framing on the top and the bottom, and a fingerprint sensor at the bottom bezel.
Backing these up is a render of the Huawei P11, with three cameras on a glass rear.
There’s a leaked benchmark at HTMLTest discovered by PhoneArena which hints that the device may have a 1,080 x 2,244 resolution display. This means it will probably have a display ratio of 18.7:9.
And check this out: a screen protector listed on Amazon corroborates the iPhone X-like notch on the Huawei P11 at the top of the earpiece.
Here’s where it gets crazy. According to VentureBeat reporter Evan Blass, the P11 will use a ridiculous 40-megapixel, three-camera setup.
Is the next Huawei P-series going to be an imaging powerhouse? A digital artist at one of the company’s creative agencies added these “PCE Series” ads to their portfolio — claiming 40MP, 3 lens rear (5x hybrid zoom) + 24MP selfie, all Leica-co-developed. pic.twitter.com/t8w3VlL55L

Blass says the device can do 5x “Hybrid zoom”, and comes with a 24-megapixel selfie camera on the front. If true, we’re looking at a massive jump from the P10’s 20-megapixel snapper. One concern regarding this rumor: the Nokia 808 PureView’s 40+ megapixel camera had a huge bulge at the back.
To be fair, that Nokia phone one came out back in 2012 so the P11’s bulge will likely be much smaller (if true).
