Microsoft says its Xbox One X, which will be releasing on November 7, is the world’s most powerful gaming console. It’s not a next-generation system but instead is an updated version of the Xbox One that came out last 2013.
Xbox One X specs
Here are some of the Xbox One X specs revealed:
- 6 teraflops GPU clocked at 1.172Ghz
- 12GBs of GDDR5 memory
- 326GB/s of memory bandwidth
- 8 million plus pixels
- Wide color gamut
- Premium Dolby Atmos sound
- 4K UHD Blu-ray playback
- Liquid-cooled vapor chamber
What it means
Beyond all the tech speak, here’s what all this means for you.
4K game resolution
Consoles like the original/slim PlayStation 4 or regular Xbox One don’t have the power to render games in 4K. Sony rolled out the PS4 Pro last year to remedy their console’s inability. The Xbox One X is Microsoft’s answer.
As mentioned above, the Xbox One X chugs out 6 teraflops versus the PS4 Pro’s 4.2. This means Microsoft’s console will have an easier time running games at stable frame rates.
