Far Cry 5 is coming out today. The last time we saw an installment in the franchise’s main series was 2014 and it was a lot like its predecessor. Will this release be more of the same or will it offer something different? Let’s take a closer look.
Previous games have taken us to tropical islands, Central Africa, and the Himalayas region. This time, Far Cry 5 lets us loose in a fictional Montana county where a charismatic (but maniacal) preacher resides. The place has a small town charm, but with plenty of guns.
So here are some of the highlights to watch out for:
Like its predecessors, Far Cry 5 is an open-world first-person shooter. You can explore its environments freely on foot or with various vehicles. You can use cars, trucks, boats, jet skis, quad-bikes, airplanes, helicopters, and more. And you can arm your preferred vehicle with different weapons like machine guns, rockets, and cluster bombs.
As if using a big rig truck to run over your foes wasn’t enough.
Instead of a pre-created protagonist, you can customize your character by changing his or her outfit, hair style, and head gear, among other details.
